Outer joist hangers are used for connecting secondary beams to main beams or to supports. This involves the connection of wooden components to one another as well as connecting wooden components to concrete or steel parts. This is often achieved with “screw/nail combinations”.

When connecting joist hangers to wood or wood materials, anchor nails (ring shank nails) are to be used of dia. 4.0 mm.
The maximum load rating on the joist hanger is achieved only with complete nailing. Partial nailing is also permitted in the case of reduced load.
The defined load is valid for the installation method shown (see diagram!). The requirements for edge and spacing distances must be observed in accordance with the valid standard and the installation must be carried out in accordance with the approval certificate!

The nails used in the mounting of joist hangers must comply with EN 14592: Use of special nails of load rating class III according to DIN 1052:2004-08, Section 12.8(5).
In this respect, we recommend using our anchor nails (load rating class III according to DIN 1052-2)!
