The flooring screw is used mainly for renovation work and interior construction for the fastening of floorboards (e.g. including solid wood) on a substructure as well as wall and ceiling panels. Due to its small, slim countersunk head, the flooring screw is particularly suitable for use with tongue and groove floorboards (invisible tongue screw connection).

When installing floorboards with tongue and groove, the flooring screw is screwed in at all intersections of the substructure and the floorboard at an angle (approx. 45° angle) into the base of the tongue and is fully countersunk. After a successful tongue and groove connection, the next floorboard is pushed on (groove into tongue) and also screwed on.
To avoid any unwanted creaking noises under load, it is necessary to ensure during installation that the floorboards rest on the full surface of the substructure after the screw connection has been made.
