The hanger bolt has two threads. The lower is a wood thread and the upper is a metric thread. This allows the hanger bolt to be used in applications requiring both coarse (e.g. in wood or anchors) and fine threads.
The stud screw has a wood or dowel thread on one end and a metric thread on the other. It is used to attach various objects with a nut to wood, masonry or natural stone.
In damp rooms and outdoors, suitable materials or surface coatings must be used, such as fasteners made of stainless steel or hot-dip galvanised fasteners. (DIN 18360:2019-09).
